Project: CIGEMON

This program began in 1999 and employed local aboriginal and non-aboriginal youth in developing Flash-based cultural games. The program was a natural extension of previous summer CAP (Community Access Program) sessions which taught youth HTML, web and graphic design skills.

In the first summer offering of this program, four games were created: a hunting game, a dog sledding game, a Dene hand game and a sliding tile game.

The second summer resulted in a refinement of the previous games as well as an additional fire-fighting game.

The third and final summer focused on the Dene hand game with a plan to deploy this as a multi-player online game.
