Earth and life sciences include the study of living creatures and their environments. In the Northwest Territories (NWT), this could include research on caribou migration patterns, the long term impacts a forest fire on local plant dynamics, or how melting permafrost may change which plants and animals are found on the tundra. The north provides a variety of habitats, ecosystems, plants and wildlife to study. Please see individual pages for a sample of recent Aurora Research Institute life science projects and partnerships in the NWT.
