In January 15, 2008 we had submitted a proposal for the International Polar Year Training, Communications and Outreach funding opportunity.

Our project seeks funding to facilitate the development a Northwest Territories research wiki called NWTResearchWiki based upon our 30+ years of data represented by the Compendia of Research in the Northwest Territories, a yearly publication. We hope to also augment the existing data with proper geo-referencing, for online and interactive map displays, as well as provide a framework by which researchers and organizations of the Northwest Territories can present information in a plain-language format.

Update June 30, 2008 - unfortunately this project was not identified as one which would be funded by the International Polar Year Training, Communications and Outreach program. We are currently looking to find another funding source for this important project.
